CeAPE is a Research Center at Unicamp's Faculty of Education that promotes the dialogue between Anthropology and Education. We consider Education in its broadest sense, as an instruction or organization of pedagogical situations, while also taking into account what we learn without intentional transmission. We believe that these processes involve conflicts, asymmetrical power relations, inequalities, and take place in changing historical circumstances. In this sense, we propose an Anthropology of Education that dialogues directly with the contributions of Sociology – Sociology of Education in particular – and History.
Our research axes are:
-
Ethnographies at schools
-
Higher Education: access, permanence and diversity
-
Organizations, communities, social movements and non-formal education
-
Intercultural school programs: indigenous peoples and quilombolas
-
Anthropological research with children and young people
-
Creative processes, indigenous and afro-diasporic Art
-
Anthropological perspectives on learning processes
